My client wanted a modern, glass topped table to go in an otherwise traditional room. So I looked at the motifs carved and inlaid into some of the other furniture. The form of the legs came from that and was developed by looking at the petals and stamen of the bindweed/morning glory that was in flower all round the workshop at the time.

Impressions – a completely new way of working
It was the coldest, bleakest part of this last winter. That was when my right arm was gripped with such intense pain that I had to stop working with the clay. I was not happy! But it turned out that this was an opportunity to completely rethink my making process.
